UTCN Appeal Information - Blue Badge
Your Tyne Tunnel is a grassroots campaign group providing an independent voice for customers using any of the tunnels under the Tyne.
This information is based on either published sources available in the public domain or gathered from other users, our opinion is our own, you should make your own decisions as to whether you should appeal or pay your UTCN.
Blue Badge Holders are exempt but have to show at the Vehicle Inspection Lane (follow the signs) or be logged as exempt by registering with an exempt account.
We support the recent decision to continue the exemption for blue badge holders who register - NECA can be commended for enabling the consultation to happen and acting upon the results. It might not be perfect for all circumstances admittedly, however many toll operators flatly refuse to waive tolls to these users.
If you have received a UTCN and are an exempt user, the normal appeals process on the TT2 website should put it right and we encourage you to engage with the process to register your vehicle with the tunnel operator using this link
